Brazilian Laser Hair Removal Near River North, Gold Coast, and Lincoln Park: What’s Actually Walkable

When people search “Brazilian laser hair removal near me” from a phone in River North or the Gold Coast, the map throws back a dozen pins and no sense of which ones you could actually reach without a whole production. Walkable, a quick train, a ten-minute drive, or secretly a pain to get to. The map doesn’t tell you. So here’s the honest version from our spot in Old Town, with real distances instead of marketing reach.

Our clinic is at 1317 N Larrabee St, in Old Town on the Near North Side. The thing that matters for a “near me” search is that Old Town sits right in the middle of River North, the Gold Coast, and Lincoln Park, so for a lot of people we’re genuinely the closest option that treats every skin type. But “near” means different things depending on which of those you’re coming from, so let me go neighborhood by neighborhood.

From the Gold Coast: yes, actually walkable

The Gold Coast is the closest of the three, and depending on where you start, walking is realistic. The western edge of the Gold Coast is under a mile from us, which is a 15-to-20-minute walk on flat city blocks. If you’re coming from the lakefront end near the lake, it’s longer and you’d probably rather take a quick rideshare or the bus.

For most Gold Coast clients the move is simple: walk it if the weather’s decent and you’re on the inland side, grab a short ride if you’re not. Either way you’re looking at well under 15 minutes door to door. This is the neighborhood where “near me” is most literally true for us.

From River North: walkable on a nice day, quick any other way

River North sits just south of us, centered roughly a mile away. That’s walkable, a 20-ish-minute stroll if you like walking and it’s not January in Chicago. Plenty of our River North clients do walk it in summer and fall.

The rest of the year, the easiest path is a short drive or rideshare, usually under ten minutes outside of rush hour, or the bus up toward Old Town. River North to us is the kind of trip where you’ll spend more time finding your shoes than actually traveling. It’s close. It just isn’t always a pleasant walk once the wind comes off the lake.

From Lincoln Park: a short ride, not really a walk

Here’s where I’ll be straight with you, because overpromising walkability helps nobody. Lincoln Park is about a mile and a half north of us. That’s technically walkable if you’re committed, but realistically it’s a short ride, not a stroll, especially if you’re coming from the northern or lakefront parts of the neighborhood.

The good news is the trip is easy. By car it’s about five minutes south. The Brown Line makes it almost as simple if you’re near a station, since we’re a four-block walk from the Sedgwick stop. Hop on heading toward the Loop, get off at Sedgwick, walk over. We see Lincoln Park clients constantly, they just arrive by train or car rather than on foot, and we have a dedicated rundown for them on our Lincoln Park laser hair removal page.

The transit situation, since “near me” often means “near a train”

A lot of the time when someone searches “near me,” what they really want to know is whether they can get there without driving. For us the answer is yes, and it’s one of the better things about the location.

The Sedgwick Brown Line station is a four-block walk from the clinic. The Brown Line runs from early morning to after 2 a.m. on weekdays, and the Purple Line Express also stops at Sedgwick during weekday rush hours, so if you’re coming from the Loop or anywhere along the North Side main line, you’re a straightforward ride away. The station is elevated and accessible, with elevators. There are also buses, the 9 and the 72, that stop at North Avenue and Sedgwick a couple of blocks over.

The upshot: from most of River North, the Gold Coast, and Lincoln Park, you can reach us by train or a single bus without ever getting in a car. That’s not true of every laser clinic in the area, a lot of them assume you’re driving and parking in a garage.

Parking, if you are driving

If you do drive, there’s free street parking around Larrabee, plus garages nearby. It’s Old Town, so street parking takes a little patience at peak times, but it exists, which isn’t a given closer to downtown. Most clients who drive from the Gold Coast or River North find something within a block or two without much drama.

So which clinic is “nearest”? Honestly, it depends on your block

“Nearest” isn’t really about pins on a map, it’s about how you actually travel. If you’re in the Gold Coast on a decent day, we might be a literal walk. If you’re in Lincoln Park, we’re a five-minute drive or an easy Brown Line ride. From River North you can choose your method by season. For all three neighborhoods, we’re close enough that the deciding factor probably shouldn’t be distance at all, since you’re within a few minutes of us regardless.

What we’d rather you choose on is whether the clinic can actually treat your skin and hair well. We use the GentleMax Pro Plus, which safely treats every skin type because it carries two wavelengths, and our technicians are licensed Family Nurse Practitioners rather than weekend-certified estheticians. If you want to see what laser hair removal in Chicago looks like at our clinic before you make the trip, that page walks through the whole thing.

When you’re ready, you can book a free consultation and we’ll give you a real treatment plan and price with no pressure. You can read the specifics of the treatment on our Brazilian laser hair removal page, check the simpler bikini option if you’re not sure how much you want done, or look at prices up front.
